In fact, when purchasing a new home one can purchase a basic house and do all the upgrades themselves. It can represent cost significant savings and the costs are not included in the long-term mortgage. This also gives you the opportunity to make upgrades not offered by the builder.

When purchasing a new home you can acquire your own home mortgage and shop for the best deal. Often the builder will offer incentives for you to use their preferred lender, and if so make sure you are getting the best deal if you choose them.
